AUSTIN (KXAN) - Today, on the first day of the new year, swimmers dove into Barton Springs Pool for the annual Polar Bear Swim.
The Save Our Springs alliance warmed up the swimmers with coffee and donuts after the plunge in 68 degree weather.
The pool has been closed during December for repairs. The city opened the pool for the annual tradition but tomorrow repairs will continue. They are expected to be wrapped-up by March.
