APD seeks pair in salon thefts

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Austin Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two suspects who burglarized a salon on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

A female suspect allegedly distracted the clerk at the salon while the male suspect entered through an emergency exit in the back. The salon's video surveillance camera shows that man coming in and within a few minutes, exiting the building's back door (see attached video).

The man allegedly rummaged through employees’ purses and stole credit cards. He later made credit card charges to the victim’s accounts, according to APD.

The male suspect is described as:

  • white or Hispanic male
  • 5 feet 11 inches in height
  • weighing about 170 to 180 pounds
  • with a shaggy appearance and a bald spot on top of his head.

The female suspect is described as:

  • white
  • about 5 feet 8 inches tall
  • weighing about 150 pounds
  • She was wearing a pink blouse and a blue jean dress
  • long, dirty blonde hair
