APD seeks aggravated-robbery suspect

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Austin Police Department’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a male suspect who robbed the Kash Tobacco and Novelties Shop on Saturday.

A male suspect entered the business and displayed a handgun, demanding money. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot

Kash Tobacco and Novelties Shop is located at 946 Payton Gin Road.

The suspect is described as:

  • black male
  • approximately 30 years old
  • 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall
  • Weighing from 200 to 240 pounds
  • has a jawline beard with a thin goatee
  • appears to have paralysis on one side of his face
  • He was last seen wearing a dark-colored Houston Astros baseball cap, a blue long-sleeved shirt with a blue scarf around his neck and blue jeans
  • The suspect carried a black semi-automatic handgun and had a desert camouflage holster on the right side of his waistband
     

This case remains under investigation by APD Robbery detectives. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery tip line at 512-974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or text “Tip 103” plus the message to CRIMES.

Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if a tip leads to an arrest or charges being filed.
