AUSTIN (KXAN) - Due to the influx of people moving into South Austin, the Austin Independent School District is planning to build a new high school to accommodate the growth.
On Wednesday night, the district held the first of two meetings to gather input from parents and interested parties on what they want to see the academic program to look like for the future high school.
AISD is also looking for a location to build the new high school -- the land purchase was funded in the 2008 Bond Program.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Crockett High School's cafeteria, located at 5601 Manchaca Road.
