AUSTIN (KXAN) - Summer is here, and so is the rain.
The isolated showers were part of a weak, but large, tropical system from South Texas. The system combined with daytime heat to bring some of the scattered showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, the first official day of summer.
The scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to move northwest across Central Texas, but should taper off after sunset.
The rain chances wrap up Thursday as high pressure begins to build back in over Texas, which will result in hotter weather this weekend, with temperatures possibly reaching the triple digits.
