Race results: Individual runners | Wheelchairs | 3M Employees

3M donated $30,000 to the organization Communities in Schools of Central Texas. The goal, getting children to stay in school and teach them lessons to achieve in life.

Organizers told KXAN, this year’s race sold out so fast it beat their record for the fastest sellout in the race's 18-year-history, a mostly downhill and long straight-aways race.

This year also held a close place for Texans; almost 95 percent of this year’s runners are from the Lone Star State, 65 percent from right here in Austin.

Participants from as far as Mexico and Canada competed in the race along with competitors from 33 U.S. states.

Over half of 2012’s contestants were participating in the race for the first time. In all, 60 percent of runners were female.

The oldest participant in this year 13.1 mile run was 86.
