AUSTIN (KXAN) - An investigation headed by the Austin Police Department and the FBI led to the arrest of 22 people in what authorities described as a major cocaine distribution ring operating in Central Texas.
The majority of those arrested are facing federal charges that carry sentences of up to life in prison, investigators said in a news conference Wednesday morning.
Police said the ring has been operating from locations in Austin, Manor, Round Rock and Killeen and was distributing as much as five kilograms of cocaine a week.
The arrests began on March 8.
