Suspect in custody in two house fires

Held on arson charges, $80,000 bond

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Austin Fire Department brought fires in two nearby houses under control Monday morning.

Crews responded to 7204 Thannas Way and 4706 Magin Meadows Drive around 9:30 a.m. Both houses were vacant, officials said.

The Magin Meadows fire was contained to one bedroom and the damage to the structure and contents was valued at $6,000. The Thannas Way property was under construction. The estimated damage was $50,000.

The cause was not immediately known, but investigators were on the scene.
