AUSTIN (KXAN) - A year-long surveillance operation by the Austin Police Department led to the arrest of two brothers now charged with selling well over $1 million worth of cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana out of their home.
According to arrest warrant affidavits released Friday, Marco Antonio Ayala, 32, and his brother, 22-year-old Rafael Arnold Ayala, had large quantities of the illegal substances at their home when it was searched by police on Tuesday.
Police also found about $52,000 in cash, bags and wrappers with drug residue. In addition, tally sheets seized at the house at 7903 Briarton Drive showed several records of several transactions of more than $100,000.
The largest transaction was for $1.43 million, according to the affidavits.
Police said in the documents that they had been watching the house for about a year. Before searching the house, police followed Rafael Ayala as he drove to what they said was a drug transaction.
Bail for each brother was set at $100,000.
