AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Recovery rehab center is hoping a big name will help the organization raise extra funds for a new facility, announcing that Rob Lowe will be in the Texas capital to help.

It's the first annual "Artists on Recovery" series.

Lowe is 20 years sober and will pitch in with a luncheon to raise money for Austin Recovery's new facility called the Family House . It will allow children to join their mothers during substance abuse recovery.

"Our fundraising in the past has been on a smaller scale, and we've changed a great deal at Austin Recovery to really expand, grow and meet the needs of clients that we treat," said Austin Recovery CEO Jonathan Ross.

Lowe's speech is scheduled for Nov. 8 at ACL LIVE at the Moody Theatre.
