AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Police Department on Tuesday launched its official Facebook page. The department said its goal is to inform citizens and businesses of public safety concerns.

Posts on the page will contain information about crime trends, descriptions of suspects, missing person’s advisories, crime prevention tips, positive departmental stories, and an opportunity to foster positive community relationships through modern social media.
