Austin tennis day this Saturday

First time event encourages more to play tennis

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Saturday will mark the first ever Austin Tennis Day. Players of all skill level are invited out to Circle C tennis club to learn from the experts on how to play or improve their game.

"The players are not only going to get free clinics but also free tips from the tennis pros and also an opportunity to try the new tennis rackets available from Head, Wilson, Prince, and Babolat," said Fernando Velasco, Circle C tennis pro and general manager.

The event gets underway at 9 o'clock Saturday morning. And all skill levels are welcome.

"Any where from the beginner players to the advanced players 4 or 4.5 players we'll put them on the court according to their level of ability," said Velasco.

This all leads up to Sunday's big match of Pete Sampras and Todd Martin out at the Lakeway World of Tennis.
