APD searches for vehicle after chase

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Police are questioning a woman who may have been part of a high speed pursuit.

APD received a call from a woman alleging that she had been kidnapped. The woman was unable to give police any further details. About the same time officers picked up a vehicle reported as stolen. Police pursued the vehicle, travelling at high speeds, as it headed East on Highway 71 past Austin Bergstrom International Airport towards Bastrop. APD called off the pursuit after it became too dangerous.

Police later received a call from the same woman reporting that she was fine and had been a part of the police chase. Police are questioning the woman to learn more about the case.

There is no one in custody.

It is routine procedure for police to terminate a pursuit if it becomes dangerous.
