AUSTIN (KXAN) - Interestingly, A ustin-Bergstrom International Airport officials said they are not expecting any more travel than usual this weekend, despite the Labor Day holiday.
That's not the case on the roads, though.
AAA predicts 34.4 million people will travel at least 50 miles away from home this weekend. That's nearly a 10-percent jump from last year.
And a huge chunk of those people, more than 90 percent, are expected to drive.
And if you're gassing up to hit the road, you'll be happy to know gas prices fell three cents to $2.52 a gallon this week in Austin.
Nationally, the average dropped a penny to $2.68. Houston has the cheapest gas in the state at $2.46.
