AUSTIN (KXAN) - Session ’09 with Jenny Hoff has a segment which reviews some of the most intriguing bills discussed throughout the week at the Capitol. Lawmakers filed several important bills last week, but one in particular stood out due to its abnormal nature. House Bill 968 earned this weeks’ title for Wild Bill of the Week.
Rep. Mark Homer of Paris Texas wants hunters to be able to use crossbows during bow hunting season. As of now, only those who are disabled are able to use cross bows during the bow hunting season. Representative Homer says opponents worry that allowing crossbows into the season is one step closer to allowing guns during a time when only hunting with archery bows is allowed. But, Homer says that's not the case and it will actually build a whole new generation of hunters as well as foster familial relationships.
Stay tuned next week for another round of Wild Bill of the Week.
