Weekly leg. talk: Political Roundtable

AUSTIN (KXAN) - This Sunday’s political roundtable included three political analysts to offer their insight on today’s politics. The trio of guests this week spoke about the newly passed budget and other interesting discussions to hit the Capitol last week.

Harold Cook is a Democratic Political Consultant who organized the Texas Eleven as well as being a former Executive Director of the Texas Democratic Party. Jay Root is an Austin-based reporter for the Associated Press and formerly was the Austin Bureau Chief of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Root has been journalist for over 19 years reporting on Texas politics, border violence and live music. Matt Mackowiak is a Republican political and communications Consultant who has served as the Press Secretary for Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. Mackowiak also previously worked for the Department of Homeleand Security.

The roundtable offers the platform for local political analysts to break down the legislative happenings of the week. Among the events of the week, the panel provided a diverse look at the issues being evaluated in the Capitol as well as responding to Senator Ogden’s statements.
