AUSTIN (KXAN) - Lieutenent Governor David Dewhurst was in the studio for this week’s Session ’09 with Jenny Hoff. The Lt. Governor spoke out about several of the big issues for Texas lawmakers. The talk begins with the highly debated voter I.D. bill.

Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst was not shy on his stance on the voter I.D. bill. Dewhurst urges the need to pass this bill claiming that there is substantial evidence of voter fraud. He wants the public to be confident that their vote will be counted. Although he usually votes

The Lt. Governor also discussed that the Senate is working to help the many Texas families that are suffering. He says that the Senate is working towards job creation to aid the many people who are unable to pay their bills. Dewhurst says that he is focuses on putting enough money into job training to help the unemployed thrive. In attempting to avoid his position on Perry’s rejection of unemployment stimulus funds, he was able to say that he understands where Perry is coming from while maintaining the extreme need for unemployment funds.

The one-on-one closed off with a look at the Lieutenent Governor’s plans for the future. He answers questions which reveal whether or not he is looking to a senate seat.
