Report: Austin drivers are dangerous

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin residents rank second to last in Texas when it comes to safe driving, according to the 2009 Allstate America's Best Drivers Report. They are ranked 179th out of 193 cities analyzed in the report.

The report ranks the nation's largest cities in terms of car collision frequency to identify which cities have the safest drivers. The report found Austin drivers are 43.5 percent more likely to be involved in a collision when compared to the national average. They also experience an accident every seven years on average.
