Car collides with tree, killing one

AUSTIN (KXAN) - One person died early Saturday morning while after slamming into a tree.

Zachary Pollock, 30 of Nederland, Texas was driving a 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit westbound when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.

Austin police said the single-vehicle accident happened in the 10300 block of FM 2222 at approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday.

Pollock died at the scene. He was the sole occupant in the vehicle.

This is the 11th traffic fatality of 2010.
