AUSTIN (KXAN) - David Davenport seemed happily employed Thursday, but by Friday at 11:45 a.m. he was no longer the Chief Executive Officer and President of the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.

The Chair of the food bank's Board of Directors, Matt Dow, announced Davenport's resignation during a press conference at the Austin distribution center Friday at 3 p.m.

Dow would not say what day or time it happened. Standing next to him was the man already named the new Interim President and CEO, Hank Perret who has been on the board an executive committee.

Dow would not give a reason for Davenport's decision to resign after three years with the non-profit.

"As policy, we don't discuss personnel issues,"said Dow. "We reached an amicable agreement."

He refused to expand on what the agreement consisted of, and went on to call Davenport a "warrior" during his successful time with the food bank.

KXAN Austin News left a message with Davenport's wife inquiring about the reasons for his sudden departure, but he has not called back.

In a blog post dated August 28, 2010, Davenport wrote he was "excited" about the "record breaking distributions" the non-profit just made in their 29-year history.
