AUSTIN (KXAN) - New developments in the case against a North Austin motel. The Budget Lodge Hotel won an appeal to stay open. The city has been working to shut down the business known for drugs and prostitution. A federal lawsuit was filed against the owners of the hotel located on Interstate 35 and Rundberg.
It has been cited for public nusance and violations of building codes. That led to the hotel's license being suspended. Budget Lodge's owner Larry Hall denied the allegations by APD and city leaders. He claims Budget Lodge is part of the solution not the problem.
