AUSTIN, TEXAS (KXAN) - Run a personal record on one of the fastest courses in sunny Texas this winter.
For 15 years running‚ athletes have enjoyed this fast‚ downhill race in Austin‚ Texas. A perennial favorite with Austin runners‚ the 3M Half Marathon & Relay is the capital city’s third largest distance road racing event. Run the half-marathon as an individual or two-person relay team. Children 10 and under can participate in the Kids’ Fun Run.
The 2009 race will be held on Sunday‚ January 25‚ and benefits Any Baby Can. This non-profit organization ensures all children reach their potential through education‚ therapy and family support services. Any Baby Can receives a guaranteed $30‚000 donation in conjunction with this year’s race.
3M Half Marathon Road and Lane Closings:
Beginning early Sunday morning‚ there will be lane and road closures from Stonelake Blvd. in the Arboretum area through central Austin‚ ending on Trinity St. Roads will reopen as final runners pass each intersection.

5:30 a.m. Packet pickup for Half Marathon and Relay at the starting line (9500 block of Stonelake Blvd.)
6:30 a.m. Buses transport second-leg relay team members to exchange point. The bus will be located on York Blvd.
6:55 a.m. Start for Wheelchair Division at 9500 block of Stonelake Blvd.
7 a.m. Start for Half Marathon & Relay at 9500 block of Stonelake Blvd.
8 a.m. Buses pick up runners at finish line at Waterloo Park to return runners to starting line.
8:30 a.m. Registration for Kids’ Fun Run at Waterloo Park.
9 a.m. Kids’ Fun Run begins at Waterloo Park.
9:30 a.m. Award ceremony at Waterloo Park.
11 a.m. Last bus departs Waterloo Park to return runners to starting line.
