ATV accident kills woman on Lake Travis
Husband tried to jump in and save 50-year-old wife

LAGO VISTA, Texas (KXAN) - A woman from the Houston area fell off a rocky drop off near her father's home in Lago Vista on Lake Travis and died.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office said Elysha Halsch, 50, of League City was doing yard work Sunday when the ATV she was riding tumbled down 22 feet to the shallow water below.
A teenage cousin said the accident happened while she and her husband were clearing brush at her father's home near Cunningham Cove near Arkansas Bend Park. Her husband was reportedly the first one to run over and try to rescue his wife.
Austin-Travis County EMS on scene tried to perform CPR. An autopsy revealed the force from the fall caused the fatal injuries.
Halsch competed in triathalons in the Houston-area.
