There are other tensions in the Middle East. Iranians are asking, "Where is my vote?"
Protestors around the world are outraged over the results of Iran's presidential election. Incumbent Mahamoud Ahmadinejad claims to have won a landslide with more than 60% of the vote. His rival and political moderate only got 30% of the vote, far less than expected. He even lost in his hometown.
Those voices were even heard here in Austin Sunday. As protestors gathered at 6th and Lamar. They claimed the election was rigged.
"It's not just about Ahmadinejad. Its about the dictatorship of more laws it's about these fanatic people who don't respect the will of people," said Bijan Afkami, Protestor.
The group plans to protest Wednesday at the state capitol.
Cell phones and certain websites have been blocked in Iran since
the upheaval, and Ahmadinejad says the results cannot be
challenged.
