AUSTIN - Insurance agents are mobilizing right now, dealing with an onslaught of claims.
We talked to one agent who told us since this damage was so widespread, companies will likely have to ask for additional adjustors.

State Farm Insurance Agent Greg Pearson says, "This will be a major catastrophe in my opinion, and they'll bring in a lot a troops not only from the state of Texas but from other states too."

If you have damage to your home or car, Pearson says it's important first of all to protect your property from any more damage.  Cover windows or part of roofs to keep rain and debris out.

Keep all your receipts from any work you have done to protect it.   If your vehicle has hail damage, wash it before the adjuster comes so the damage can be clearly seen.

And remember the quicker you get your claim in, the quicker you'll get results.
