AUSTIN (KXAN) - Although things are bit scaled back this year at Zilker, Capital Metro is still offering their service to help get people to and from the Zilker Tree.
Route 30 offers bus service with frequent pick-up times to and from the light displays.
Residents who want to spin under the tree this year can hop on Route 30 and ride it right to the front gate. The festival-goers can catch the bus at many locations along Route 30.
"We hope families will take advantage of this frequent, convenient service and enjoy their trip to the festivities," said Doug Allen, Capital Metro Interim CEO/President.
It runs every 10 to 15 minutes starting at 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. It costs $1.50 for an adult and just 70 cents for children six to 18. Kids under five ride for free.
Capital Metro does caution that riders need to bring exact change, as drivers cannot make change.
The service will be offered from Dec. 13 until Dec. 21. For those newbies to the city, the City of Austin's Zilker Tree Holiday Festival is a family-friendly event which has lights, Santa's House, nightly entertainment and plenty of concessions.
