WIMBERLEY, Texas (KXAN) - Deputies in Hays County arrested a 19-year-old man they say barricaded himself inside a home after he shot and injured a man on Friday.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call of a shooting in the 300 block of Rader Ranch Road in Wimberley around Noon.

Authorities said the shooting victim is a 40-year-old man and he was transported by STAR Flight to University Medical Center Brackenridge with a gunshot wound to the abdomen -- his condition was unknown late Friday.

After several hours of negotiating, the suspect came out of the home and surrendered to authorities. It is unclear what the suspect and victim's relationship is.

Authorities had put Wimberley High School under lockdown as a precaution due to its proximity to the shooting.
