LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) - Leander Independent School District has set two dates for public workshops to discuss potential school budget cuts for the 2011-2012 year.

The feedback from the meetings will help guide the district in making choices that will affect teachers, students and staff.

“These workshops are planned to be more than community forums,” Bret Champion, LISD superintendent said. “We are asking our community to come together to share with us what they find valuable about our programs and initiatives. We value our stakeholders’ opinions, and believe their contributions will positively impact LISD.”

The community input workshops are scheduled for:

  • Monday, Feb. 28, 6:15 p.m., in the cafeteria at Vista Ridge High School, 200 S. Vista Ridge Blvd., in Cedar Park.
  • Tuesday, March 1, 6:15 p.m., in the cafeteria at Vandegrift High School, 9500 McNeil Dr. in Austin.

Those who plan to attend are asked to complete a short questionnaire at www.leanderisd.org .
