AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are investigating a bank robbery at 10:29 a.m. Wednesday.

It happened at the Wells Fargo in the 1600 block of W. 35th St. The suspect displayed a semi-automatic gun and demanded money. No one was injured. He left the bank through the east exit.

Police are still searching for the suspect. He is described as a white or hispanic man wearing a khaki, button-up shirt, dark pants and sunglasses. Witnesses said he was carrying a black, hardside briefcase. He has been identified as the "Reckless Robber." He is accused of committing several bank robberies in the Houston area. Authorities allegedly call him that because he has robbed at least seven banks and his behavior at the robberies keeps escalating.

A K9 unit is helping in the search. Police are unsure if he fled on foot or left in a get-away car.
