AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police said they are searching for several suspects after two people were shot at an East Austin apartment complex early Tuesday morning.
Police got the call around 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Wickersham Green apartments near Wickersham Lane and Riverside Drive.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Investigators have little information to go on, but said they think robbery may have been the motive in the shootings.
Officers said they think the suspects knew the victims and that there may have been some sort of situation that led up to the shooting. The police department said this is an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public..
No arrests had been made as of noon Tuesday, and no other information has been released.
According to a KXAN analysis of Austin Police Department crime data, the area around the Wickersham Green apartment complex is no stranger to crime.
Just this year alone, Austin police have investigated numerous crimes including aggravated robbery, assaults, vehicle burglaries, indecent exposure, hit-and-run crashes, terroristic threats and thefts.
