Tip leads to marijuana bust at airport

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) - A tip from California leads to a drug bust at the San Marcos Airport.
According to Wade Parham with the Hays County Narcotics Task Force, officials arrested Stanley Schmidt, 60, of Austin, on Tuesday when he landed his rental plane at the airport.
A search of the plane uncovered three duffel bags with close to 100 pounds of marijuana -- which has a street value of $300,000.
Hays County Sheriff's Office and the San Marcos Police Department worked together on the investigation.
Schmidt is currently in the Hays County jail; his bond is set at $10,000.
