(KXAN) - Detectives ask unidentified female to come forward

Austin police said they are hoping an unidentified female witness in a February improper visual recording case comes forward.

Police said she was present during an altercation between Brandon Gilroy, 23, and a Macy's store security at Barton Creek Mall.

Authorities arrested Gilroy on Feb. 9 after they said he recorded females inside a Juniors/Misses Macy's fitting room without their consent.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Special Investigations Unit at (512) 974-6840.

The case remains under investigation.

Officer suing City after smashing car with baseball bat

Former Elgin police officer is suing city after he was fired for smashing a suspect's car with baseball bat. Incident on dash camera.

Former Elgin Police Officer Steven Ou has filed a lawsuit against the City of Elgin, the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office, former Bastrop County Sheriff Rosanna Abreo and former City Manager Jeff Coffee.

Ou is suing the City for his right to due process and Coffee for defamation. Ou is suing for alleged violations to his freedom of speech and the right to due process. Abreo is being sued for the rights of freedom of speech, defamation and intentional interference with an existing contract.

Ou, an officer hired by former Chief Jack Hensley in May 2008, was fired in December 2008. The firing came after a BCSO video camera captured images of the officer smashing a suspect's side window of a vehicle after being stopped for a traffic violation.

School walking routes deemed too dangerous

New Leander ISD middle school walking routes are deemed too dangerous. Transportation Director Clint Pruett presented the list of hazardous route which have to be approved by March 25.

If the board approves the staff recommendation, Four Points Middle School, which opens Fall 2011, will join Vandegrift High School as an area where transportation is required, except very close by. The campus is located near the dangerous intersection of RM 620 and RM 2222.

Students in the immediate area, including the Alexan Ribelin Ranch Apartments, may walk to school. All other areas within two miles of the campus are designated as hazardous.

Burglar grabs computer equipment from business

A burglar made off with computer equipment during a burglary on March 5.

According to police, the suspect was let into the lobby, most likely by someone who thought he was an employee for one of the offices in the building. The lock on the office door where the burglar stole a laptop computer was picked.

Police are still investigating this case.

Six-year-old reports sexual abuse

Police issued an arrest warrant for Shawn Christopher Adamson for indecency with a child by contact, a second-degree felony.

A 6-year-old girl reported sexual abuse by a man she called her "uncle" to her Grandmother. When interviewed at the Center for Child Protection, the girl said her "uncle" showed her his bottom. When given a doll to point out the bottom, she pointed to his genital area. She described it as looking like an "ice cream cone." She said this has happened four times.

In a follow-up interview, the girl said her "uncle" made her and another child play hide-and-go-seek. He told the other child to go count while he and the victim hid. While hiding, the girl said he forced her to touch his genitals. Her "uncle" was later identified as Adamson.

APD investigating gun call

Austin police responded to a female with a gun call at Sam Rayburn Drive and Powell Lane. The call came in aroun 6 p.m. on Friday. The suspect fled the scene when police arrived.

Officers located the suspect nearby at St. Johns Avene and Cameron Road. Officers recovered a gun at the scene.

APD is investigating the call and reasons the suspect evaded police. Further details were not available.
