AUSTIN (KXAN) - Cops: Student threatens police, assistant principal

Police nearly needed to mace a student in the courtyard of McCallum High School during a lunch break.

The student faces felony charges after police said he tried to headbutt an officer and threatened to beat up an assistant principal and officers repeatedly.

Xavier Carter, 17, was arrested Tuesday at the school just before 1 p.m.. Police said Carter was in the south math hall when flipped off a school resource officer after hearing he was being suspended. The resource officer said Carter was being aggressive and belligerent with the assistant principal as well.

Carter went out to the court yard and continued yelling and threatening the assistant principal and officer, according to police. The officer told Carter he would be arrested for disorderly conduct if he continued the behavior. Carter continued and then resisted arrest.

More officers arrived and one was going to mace Carter, but he finally complied and allowed the officer to place him in temporary constraints' according to police reports. Then police said he tried to headbutt the officers and made one officer fall and hurt his right elbow.

Men trying to repossess a car threatened

Police said two repossession men had a gun pointed at them when they tried to collect a car.

Police said at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, they were called to La Quinta Inn at Interstate 35 and E. Oltorf after the repossession men said they were threatened with a gun.

Police found David Sanchez-Ramirez, 40, not far away with his wife and daughter in the car as well as a 9 mm handgun and 12 rounds in a magazine.

The repo men had originally gone to Sanchez-Ramirez's home to repossess the Nissan but said Sanchez-Ramirez fled to a hotel to avoid having the car taken. They were able to follow him to the motel because the car had a GPS tracking device in it. Sanchez-Ramirez told police he was just trying to protect his family.

Sanchez-Ramirez, 40, has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Hard drug arrest after smell smoke

A police officer noticed four kids smoking in a car and ended up finding several grams of a variety of drugs.

Cole Koreneck, 17, has been arrested after police said they found him with three grams of Hashish, 43 Ecstasy pills, two grams of marijuana and six grams of Hydrocodone. The officer saw Korenek driving at Slaughter Lane and Mopac and followed him to the 9000 block of Beckett Road where he pulled him over for having an obstructed license plate at 12:40 a.m.

While the officer was searching for cigarettes, he found the drugs, according to the arrest warrant.

Woman assaults police officer after possibly making false report

Police said a woman who tried to make a false report of a sexual assault punched a police officer in the face on Dec. 12.

Police have filed an arrest warrant for Juana Esperanza Alvarado, 18. On Dec. 12 just before 9 p.m., an officer responded to Gardner Betts at 2515 S. Congress Ave. to take a sexual assault report. The officer said Alvarado had several inconsistencies in the statement and when the officer asked her to clarify, she became very mad and said he did not really want to help her.

Police said she then began yelling profanities at the officer and when the officer went to leave, he noticed he left his note pad on the table. When he turned to get the pad, he said Alvarado punched him on the left side of his face.
