Police searching for jewelry thief

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly stole a ring from a mall jewelry store.

A suspect walked into a store in Barton Creek Mall and asked to see a sapphire ring. When the store clerk pulled out the ring, he allegedly snatched the ring and ran.

He ran out of the mall and got into a blue SUV that was waiting for him. The suspect is described as a white man, 150 pounds, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a black jacket with torn blue jeans during the time of the theft.
