AUSTIN (KXAN) - A string of North Austin robberies since June 19 has robbery detectives in Austin busy, looking into six robberies where victims in apartment complex parking lots or walking along streets after grocery shopping were targeted.

Austin Police Department Robbery detectives are telling people to take extra precaution and not to walk alone as they investigate robberies that took place between 9:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. along and around Cameron Road from Reinli Street to Anderson Lane:

  • 6900 Cameron Road
  • 1521 Reagan Hill Drive
  • 1500 Reagan Hill Drive
  • Cameron Road/Clayton Lane
  • 1512 Reagan Hill Drive
  • 1071 Clayton Lane

The suspects often display weapons and beat up the victims. The suspects are described as one- to three African-American or Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s.

Police said they believe they are high school students, but investigators have very little information to go on.

One suspect is described as having corn-row braids, while another was seen riding a BMX-style bicycle.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or text "Tip 103" + your message to CRIMES. You may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest or charges being filed.
