2 shot dead inside South Austin home

Witnesses say shooter knocked on door, opened fire

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police were investigating a shooting that left two people dead inside of a home in the 7100 block of Dixie Drive near East William Cannon Drive Monday evening.

A spokesperson said information is only preliminary but that witnesses said a person walked up to the home around 6:44 p.m., knocked on the door and began shooting -- killing two people inside the home.

There is no suspect information at this time.
