MoPac traffic stop turns up stolen car

Suspect ran away but is now in custody

AUSTIN (KXAN) - A traffic stop Monday morning led to the recovery of a stolen car.

A person ran away during the traffic stop at MoPac and State Highway 45 around 6:45 a.m. The car turned out to be stolen, and police were able to track down the suspect -- who is now in custody.

KXAN News viewer Wilda Won wrote in via the Report It! function that there were multiple police cars with lights on near MoPac and Highland Park Elementary just north of Camp Mabry.

The scene was clearing just before 7 a.m.
