KILLEEN, Texas (KXAN) - Detectives from the Killeen Police Department discovered the body of missing 16-year-old James Johnson III. Three teenage suspects are in custody.
Johnson's mother reported the teenager missing on Wednesday, November 11th when he was not home when she returned from work. Police alerted the community on Monday of the boy's dissappearance.
During the investigation detectives received several leads and information that lead them to the discovery of the boy's body. He was found in Bell County north of Temple off FM 1237 on Thursday at approximately 2:15am.
A 16-year-old suspect and two 17-year-old male suspects were taken into custody as a result of the investigation. The 16-year-old is in the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center, and the two 17-year-old suspects are in the Killeen City Jail.
Paul Andrew Cantu of Waco and Victor Villarreal Jr. of Fort Hood are each charged with murder.
The case continues to be investigated.
