Meth labs busted, four arrested

Burnet County sheriff acts on Crime Stoppers tip

BURNET COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Burnet County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit arrested four people and seized two methamphetamine labs on Monday after a Crime Stoppers tip proved true.

Charged with possession or transport of certain chemicals with intent to manufacture controlled substances, a second-degree felony, are:

  • Pamela A. Lopez, 42, of 127 Oaks Road, Bertram
  • Mark E. Pierce, 42, 1001 Lewis St., Burnet
  • Barbara A. Mcgill, 47, 1001 Lewis St., Burnet

After the arrests, officers searched Lopez's home and found a meth lab that had more than 400 grams of liquid methaphetamine along with assorted chemicals, precursors and lab apparatus.

Authorities found a second meth lab at 1401 County Road 269 in Bertram where officers arrested Steve L. Trahan, 43. He was charged with three counts:

  • Manufacture and deliver of a controlled substance, more than 400 grams, a first-degree felony
  • Possession of a controlled substance, more than 400 grams, a first-degree felony
  • Possession or transport of certain chemicals with intent to manufacture controlled substances, a second-degree felony

All four suspects were taken to Burnet County Jail to await arraignment on the charges.

The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff's office encourages citizens to report suspicious activitites to local law enforcement, or Crime Stoppers at 866-756-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can remain anonymous and may earn a reward if information provided leads to the arrest of anyone committing a crime.
