AUSTIN (KXAN) - A couple of local police departments are looking for a man they said is wanted on numerous felony theft warrants for cases involving high-end jewelery thefts.
The Austin and Bee Cave police departments want Timothy Allen Liess, 44, because police said they believe he is pawning stolen jewelry, including high-end watches, throughout Texas and five states of the Southeastern part of the nation. The states include Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Oklahoma.
Officials said they also believe he is selling these stolen items on Craigslist and are putting jewelry stores and pawn shops on alert for Liess.
Authorities said Liess has been seen driving a blue, four-door 2006 Nissan Altima with dealer plates. He also frequently drives rental cars, according to police.
Anyone with information regarding Liess’ whereabouts is encouraged to call the Austin Police Department’s North Bureau Detectives at (512) 974-5584 or also by calling 911.
