Ramirez resentenced for 2007 drunk driving death

HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Hays County judge sentenced a Kyle man to 10 years for a drunk driving crash that killed an Austin firefighter.
Rolando Ramirez Jr. was convicted in 2008 of intoxicated manslaughter. This resentencing hearing was postponed until Wednesday after an appeal.
Ramirez struck Austin firefighter Guillermo Benny Balderama on March 2, 2007 on I-35 in Kyle. Balderama died from injuries in the crash.
A blood-alcohol test revealed Ramirez was three times the legal limit.
