AUSTIN (KXAN) - Chuong Lai, 32, was arrested by Austin Police on Monday and charged with improper photography of women last year.

On April 28, a woman reported that after standing line at the Austin Food & Wine Festival, she noticed Lai squatting to her right. The woman said she saw a flash, but assumed he had dropped his camera and the flash went off.

The woman reportedly went back in line and recognized Lai was standing behind her. She said she then felt someone grabbing her right inner thigh and tugging at the bottom of her dress.

The victim stated that Lai was now squatting behind her, holding a camera up her dress. She immediately confronted him, and Lai admitted he was taking photos underneath her dress.

The victim requested that the suspect delete the photos, and then reported the incident to the police. Police later analyzed the camera, which showed there were several photos of at least five women before they were deleted. All of the photos were of the women’s underwear under their dresses.

Lai’s bail was set at $75,000.
