AUSTIN (KXAN) - A man who lead Austin police on a slow-speed chase is in jail on Friday night.
Police said around 5 p.m. they were originally called to check out a disturbance in a parking lot near 38th Street and Red River Street. When officers got there, a man took off in a vehicle.
Police followed him for almost 30 minutes and even tried to stop him with spike strips but he didn't come to a stop until he got to IH-35 and Highway 290 in South Austin.
Once stopped, police were able to get the suspect into custody.
No one was injured but authorities said one bystander vehicle was damaged.
