Car crashes through home, killing man

ODESSA, Texas (AP) - Frederick Gardea Gonzalez was charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following Saturday's crash.

He remained at the Ector County Detention Center on Sunday on bonds totaling $100,000.

A jail official did not have attorney information for him.

The Odessa American reports that James Paysinger and his wife, Melba, were at home when police say the vehicle traveling at a high rate of said left the road, crossed a field and became airborne
upon hitting a bump.

The car then crashed through the home, finally stopping in the backyard.

Police say James Paysinger was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital while Melba Paysinger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
