GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) - A 25-year-old leads Georgetown police on a high-speed chase that ends with the suspect hit by a Taser, according to police.
Police found a 3-year-old child in the back seat of the vehicle unharmed. Meanwhile, Timmy Ray Garza was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child.
Georgetown and Austin police joined forces and deployed spikes at two locations, the second destroying all the tires on the vehicle.
The suspect continued to elude police, reaching speeds of 72 mph no tires remaining on the vehicle, just rims.
The chase began in Georgetown and ended at 183 and Ed Bluestein Boulevard in Austin. The suspect fled the vehicle and injured himself jumping a barricade.
Georgetown officers hit the suspect with a Taser.
Garza was transported to the hospital with minor injuries to the foot. He was wanted in Austin for assault family violence.
