AUSTIN (KXAN) - The mother accused of smearing her daughter's catheter tube with feces was released from jail on Thanksgiving Day on a surety bond.
Emily McDonald's original bond was set at $100,000.
Her next court appearance is a docket call on Jan. 6 with the trial scheduled to start on Jan. 10.
She is charged with injury to a child, a first-degree felony. McDonald was originally arrested in June 2009 after she was seen on video surveillance cameras set up by staff at Dell Children's Medical Center smearing feces on a tube leading into her then-3-year-old daughter's body.
