AUSTIN (KXAN) - It's an innocent enough statement -- something "green" in Austin conjures up an environmentally conscious place or product. And the color green certainly goes with Christmas.
In this case, a woman trying to make a few bucks via the Internet now finds herself under arrest after her advertisement caught the attention of law enforcement officers.
On Dec. 27 Travis County deputies were searching the Craigslist website for advertisments soliciting controlled substances.
The deputy found an ad reading "Typical Texas Christmas, not a flake of snow. If you ask me, the more green the merrier. I did some mowing today, plenty to spread around. Happy Holidays."
The deputy responded to the ad based on experience that "green" is reference to marijuana.
Theresa Janelle Jones, 21, was caught when an undercover deputy posed as a potential buyer and responded in writing. "I'm dry and lookin, especially if it's any good."
Less than two hours later, he got a response: "It's good. I've got a little of each left, two strains from Cali. One purple and one heavily crystalized, both make for good smokes."
The deputy set up a meeting to purchase an ounce of marijuana.
She was arrested on Tuesday for delivery of marijuana, a felony offense.
