AUSTIN (KXAN) - A man allegedly bit the face of a 2-year-old when the child threw a tantrum.
The mother of the child met Lorenzo Frias, 21, on the Internet in October 2009. She and her two children - the other is a 6-month-old boy - moved in with Frias because she "needed shelter" according to police reports.
On Thanksgiving Day, the mother and her two children went with Frias and Frias' sister to a friend's house in Manor. The mother claims that Frias started drinking.
When they arrived in Manor, the mom said her 2-year-old boy started to become antsy. Frias then, allegedly, got frustrated with the child and sent the boy inside "for punishment." The mother then told Frias that she felt her 2-year-old "had a form of autism" according to reports.
The mom went into the house and calmed down her child. Once her little boy was better, she brought the child back to the party. After that party, Frias' sister allegedly drove Frias, the mother and her two children to Frias' grandmother's home.
The mom said Frias continued "consuming beer" and was "getting drunk." Frias became agitated with the toddler, according to the mother. The toddler started to have a tantrum. That is when Frias allegedly bit the little boy on both sides of his face, as well as "squeezing his head with his hand, bruising to the right temple area."
Fearing for her life as well as her children's well-being, the mother moved them to a shelter. Frias allegedly sent her "threatening text messages" after she moved out.
Frias is not yet in custody, however a warrant is issued for his arrest, on the charge of injury to a child, a third-degree felony.
