AUSTIN (KXAN) - Corlis F. Wiley, 50, was arrested Saturday night and charged in connection with a burglary on Eastcrest Drive in north Austin.
It happened at a home around 8 p.m. Police say the home had been burglarized back in November.
The homeowner told police he heard noise coming from his living room, went to check it out and found Wiley hunched over a chair.
A court affidavit states that the homeowner had placed his leather jacket on the chair and it was now missing.
Wiley ran away on foot and a neighbor saw her carrying the leather jacket, police said.
Wiley was later found at a nearby apartment with the jacket, according to the arrest affidavit.
Police described Wiley as drunk.
Police say Wiley told them she was at the home on Eastcrest Drive to engage in prostitution and was given the coat as payment.
The homeowner identified Wiley as the person who was in his home, but told police he had never seen her before the break-in.
The leather coat was valued at $100.
Wiley is being held on $25,000 bond.
