AUSTIN (KXAN) - A Travis County homeowner is releasing security images from his home video cameras after they caught thieves breaking into a vehicle in his driveway.
Peter Sandford owns an audio/video company and uses security cameras around his home.
In the early morning hours of November 11, one of the cameras caught three car burglars scoping out the vehicles in his driveway with a flashlight.
"We're pretty convinced that they went block to block looking for someone they could attack and make a victim of," said Sandford.
The thieves were all wearing light colored t-shirts and eventually spotted a laptop in the front seat of one of Sandford's vehicles. The broke the window and stole the laptop.
"There's actually a part in the camera footage where they realize they're being filmed and they decided to cover up their faces , fortunately for us we had already gotten some pretty good shots of their faces."
The thieves pulled their shirts over their heads and took off in a white SUV.
